I like to make a good looking handle rather than just a piece of dowel.

I have described Ted in some detail I will now describe the body of this automaton.

Supporting base is made from re-purposed oak.

The darker wood for the turned handle is teak the

lighter wood again Oak.

Using hardwood makes for a better finish

and a sturdier piece.

Also when waxed the beautiful grain is

enhanced greatly.
